What does success mean?
Why does suffering exist?
- Self-created suffering: When the world does not meet your expectations.
- Person-inflicted suffering: When other people hurt you, either intentionally or through negligence.
- Natural suffering: When the suffering inflicted upon you has no internal or human cause. Note that natural suffering becomes person-inflicted when it can be prevented. Hunger is preventable suffering (and so becomes a type of person-inflicted suffering), while the damage done by natural disasters is not preventable.
